5-12-09 St Louis Post Dispatch St Louis Home Prices Tumble Median home prices tumbled 16.9 percent in St. Louis in the first quarter, compared to the same period last year, according to the National Association of Realtors. The midpoint of all homes sold in the first three months of the year was $100,900.
Nationally, prices fell a bit less steeply - 13.8 percent to a median of $169,000 - and the Midwest was the best-performing part of the country, with a 6.8 percent decline, to $132,400. Prices were down in 134 out of 152 metro areas.
